Kenichi Rinoie is a Professor at the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Head of the Center for Aviation Innovation Research at the University of Tokyo. He received his Ph.D. degree in Engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1988. Formerly he worked at the National Aerospace Laboratory, Science and Technology Agency during the period of 1988 to 1993. He received his B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees from the same university. His main research interests are in the aircraft conceptual design and experimental aerodynamics of aircraft. Kenichi Rinoie was the President of the Japan Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences (JSASS) in 2013. He is currently a Council Member of International Council of Aeronauticla Sciences (ICAS) and a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS).

Shinji Suzuki is a Professor at the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Head of the Center for Aviation Innovation Research at the University of Tokyo He received his Ph.D. degree in Engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1986, after his research career at Toyota's Central R&D Labs, Inc., in Japan. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the same university. His main research interests are in the design and control aspects of air safety and unmanned aerial vehicles. Shinji Suzuki is currently Vice- President of JSASS, the Board Director of JSME, and an Executive Committee Member of ICAS.

Hiroshi Shibutake is a Project Professor at the Center for Aviation Innovation Research, The University of Tokyo. Before taking up his post at the University in August 2015, he worked in the Civil Aviation Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), including as the Coordinator for the development of 4th R/W and international area of Tokyo Int’l Airport, in addition to enhancement of general aviation. Besides his work above, he also worked as the Director of Tourism Department in some regions in Japan, as well as the director for safety management, and crisis control on transportation in the MLIT. His main interests include air transport policy, airline business models and regional development.

Hiroko Nakamura is a Project Associate Professor at the Centre for Aviation Innovation Research at the University of Tokyo. She previously worked for Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., as a product planner, making the efforts of engineers attractive to the market. She received her P.h.D degree in Management of Technology and her M.S. degree in Environmental and Ocean Engineering from the University of Tokyo in 2013 and in 2006 and a Special Master’s degree in Industrial System Engineering from the Ecole Centrale Paris in 2004. She also received her B.S. degree from the University of Tokyo in 2003. She is currently the Deputy Director General at JAPAN Unmanned System Traffic & Radio Management Consortium (JUTM), Foundation for the Promotion of Engineering Research abd Counselor at Japan UAS Industrial Development Association. Her research interests include transition management of innovation such as alternative jet fuels and open rotor.

Tomoharu Hase is a Project Professor at Graduate School for Public Policy, The University of Tokyo. Before taking up his post at the University in September 2016, he worked in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), including as the Director of Global Environmental Policy Office. Besides his work above, he also worked as the Director for Policy Research of Policy Research Institute for Land, Infrastructure, Transport, as well as the Deputy Director of transport environment policy divisions in the MLIT and Ministry of Environment. His main interests include transport policy and environment policy.
